Under Rule No. 18 of  Limited Liability Partnership Rules, 2009 road map for choosing Right Name for LLP is given. Check following points before applying LLP Name Reservation.

1. It should not include name offensive to any section of People
2. Not an exact translation of Existing LLP in Hindi or English
3. Not close phonetic resemblance to existing LLP
4. Does Not Include word as word Co-operative, Sahakari or the equivalent of word ‘co-operative’
5. Does include word as National, Union, Central, Federal, Republic, President, Rashtrapati, etc. (participation or patronage of the Central or State Government )
6. Does not include Name as “’British India”
7. Does not implies association or connection with any Embassy or Consulate or of a foreign government etc.
8. No Vague name allowed Example : D.I.M.O. Limited liability Partnership

10. Adding City name in existing LLP name not allowed Example : Existing LLP Indian Press LLP , adding city name to this as Indian Press (Pune) LLP not allowed
11. Not a name of registered Trademark, unless the consent of the owner of the trademark has been produced
12. Not allowed name identical with or too nearly resembles to Foreign LLP reserved name in India.
13. Not identical with or too nearly resembles to LLP or Company under liquidation
14. Does not include word as “’Bank’, ‘Insurance’ and ‘Banking ,’company secretaries’ prior approval
15. “Venture Capital/Venture Capital Fund/Venture Capital Finance” allowed after approval

Conclusion:

For LLP Name reservation apply name to Ministry  of Corporate Affairs. Special RUN Form is available online for LLP name reservation. RUN Standards Reserve Unique Name. In one form 2 name can be given in sequence order or priority. Once LLP name is approved the letter shall be valid for fifteen days. Once name is approved next formality is LLP registration and LLP agreement.
